What sort of training is provided to new graduates?

New graduates first receive training on the fundamentals of being a working professional. After this, our new members gradually move to the candidate side and then to the client side, where they learn through both classroom and practical training the necessary skills to work as a successful consultant. We envision a time frame in which new employees are promoted to Consultant rank 12 months after joining the company.

How can I obtain the required industry and job expertise?

New members will receive general training in the basics of the human resources industry (e.g., how to conduct candidate interviews, how to meet with clients, etc.) as part of the orientation program for all employees. After being assigned to a team, you will receive on-the-job training regarding the industry-specific knowledge in the field that each team is responsible for.

Do I need to submit documents (resume and English CV) in both English and Japanese when applying for a position? Do I also need to submit an Entry Sheet (ES)?

Although there is no specific format for submitting application documents, it would be ideal if you could send us both Japanese and English versions. While we do not require applicants to submit an ES, some applicants choose to include a brief personal introduction in their resumes or CVs.

What is the workplace atmosphere like?

en world has an open workplace environment where all members can express their opinions regardless of their job position. We have many non-Japanese associates and a rich diversity of nationalities, and both Japanese and English are used in the workplace.

What competencies do you look for in new graduates?

We seek candidates with at least business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English. During the interview process, we are keen to hear why new graduate applicants have selected the recruitment industry as their first career step. With regard to the specialized knowledge required for the position, please be assured that this can be acquired after joining.

Why do you hire new graduates?

We proactively hire talented individuals regardless of their experience. We prepare training plans from a long-term perspective, so that even people with no prior experience can perform as successfully as mid-career hires after one to one and a half years.

How often is English used during the job?

This depends on the team to which you are assigned. Some teams use English more frequently, while others may use more Japanese.

What sort of training programs do you provide?
-
We provide three months of on-the-job training on fundamental skills as a business professional, such as business manners, followed by three months of on-the-job training focused on recruitment.

Do you offer work-from-home as a work style option?
-
Although we do offer a hybrid work style, in the beginning you will be asked to come to the office to learn about the manners and other fundamentals of working as a business professional, as we believe it is important for all employees to be able to see and experience these key aspects firsthand (the frequency of remote and office work will be communicated to you at this time).

My date of graduation is not March – can I apply?

If you will graduate by the time you join the company in April, you are welcome to apply.

I have already graduated – can I apply?
-
Yes. Selection is made on the basis of no prior employment experience, and applicants must have graduated from a university or graduate school within one year as of March of the year of hire.

Can I apply without certifications such as TOEIC or JLPT?
-
Although we do not have specific requirements for certifications such as TOEIC or JLPT, we do require applicants to have business-level proficiency or higher in both Japanese and English.
For Mid-Career Hires

I would like to further my English ability – do you offer any kind of training to improve English proficiency?

We offer support programs to help our employees improve their language skills.

For mid-career hire, how do you determine which team I will be assigned to?
-
The team to which you will be assigned will be determined as part of the selection process, taking into consideration your prior experience and personal preferences. The interview process always includes an interview with the manager of the team to which you will be assigned.

How many client companies is one consultant responsible for?
-
This depends on whether you are assigned to an industry-based team or a job-based team, but for an industry-based team, you can expect to work with around 20 companies, and for a job-based team, around 40 companies.

What are the common attributes of successful associates at en world?

Our most successful consultants are those who are able to build long-term relationships with candidates and client companies in line with our mission of “enabling success”.

What is the workplace atmosphere like?

Although we are a Japanese company, the atmosphere is very similar to that of a foreign-affiliated company. We have a flat corporate culture where it is easy for anyone to talk to anyone, and our associates will often address each other by their first names, regardless of job position.

What kind of teamwork do you value?

We share information within teams at meetings and manage customer information in a common database that is shared by all departments. The most important aspect of our teamwork is that we work together to assist our job seekers so that we can provide them with the most beneficial information possible.

How often is English used during work?
-
This depends on the team to which you are assigned, but in general, both Japanese and English are used in our internal communication. Business communication such as emails are frequently sent in both Japanese and English. Of course, if you are not confident in your language abilities, we also offer support programs to help employees improve their language skills.

Do you have training programs?

Yes. Although the length of training varies by position, we typically provide about one week of training on en world and the basics of recruitment. After this, you will be assigned to a team where you will work with a “buddy”, a senior member of the team who is always available to answer any questions you may have. You will also have one-on-one meetings with your team manager, where you can check in and discuss any issues.

Do you have a work-from-home (remote work) system?

We offer work-from-home as a work style option. From March 2020 onward, we offer a hybrid work environment that includes both in-office and remote work. (There are no restrictions on the number of remote working days.)

I have no prior experience in the human resources industry – can I apply for a consultant position?
-
We welcome applicants with no prior experience. We have a comprehensive training program for new members, so even individuals with no experience can start with the basics and grow into a fully-fledged consultant.

What does the hiring process involve?

After receiving your application via our website, your application will be screened. Only successful applicants will be contacted for further scheduling. The interview process will consist of approximately three rounds of interviews. During the selection process, you will be asked to complete an aptitude test and a reference check.

Can women lead a successful career at en world?

We hire talented individuals regardless of gender, and around 50% of our current employees are women.

What attributes do you look for in an applicant?

As a consultant, you will be required to build relationships with and earn the trust of both job seekers and client companies. As such, logical thinking, flexibility, communication skills, and teamwork skills are vital attributes for success as a recruitment consultant.

What is a typical day for a consultant?
-
A typical day may involve searching for candidates, inputting candidate information, interviewing candidates, holding lunch meetings with candidates, and sharing the status of candidates in team meetings. Consultants also review their goals and progress with their team manager.

If I have no prior experience in recruitment, what position will I start in?
-
New employees without prior recruitment experience start as Associate Consultants, where they learn the basics of candidate searching, communication, and other key skills.
The goal for new employees is to qualify as a Consultant the following year after working for about one year as an Associate Consultant.

What career paths are available?
-
A career in sales will begin as an Associate Consultant with a focus on candidate searching in order to learn the basics of recruiting first.
After this, Associate Consultants are promoted to Consultant rank and assigned clients of their own, with the opportunity to be further promoted to Senior Consultant based on their performance.
Those who achieve further results can take on the role of Team Manager or Principal Consultant.
In addition, some employees have been transferred to other departments or to overseas branches.

Can I apply from outside Japan?

Of course. There are currently 26 nationalities represented among our employee base, and we have hired employees from outside Japan in the past.
