“Working with people side-by-side as a Senior Candidate Advisor
in a company culture that embraces teamwork and sharing.”

Momoka Fujinami
I joined en world in 2017 and worked in the HR department and sales department. Afterwards, I gained experience as a recruiter in a large foreign IT firm and returned to en world. While my achievements have been recognized as a Senior Candidate Advisor, I am actively involved in training new graduates and providing guidance in sourcing.
- What are your current duties and job description?
As a Senior Candidate Advisor (hereafter SCA) in the BtoB department, my main task is to provide comprehensive support to job seekers who are looking for a career change. SCA work is not sales administration but involves sourcing for people who are considering to make a career change. Sourcing involves scouting activities for registrants on job hunting sites and headhunting, based on information obtained from companies. For people who are not looking for an immediate career change but wish to seek information, we assist them develop their mid- to long-term careers.
In some cases, I attend client meetings to understand the persona they are looking for so that I can work with the in-house recruitment consultants to match the desired candidate with someone seeking a job. It’s also our job, not so much the recruitment consultant’s, to keep an eye on the changes that take place in the market, such as inflow of job seekers, and present the requirements and other information to our client companies.
I’m also in charge of internal training for new graduates, and providing guidance and advice on sourcing skills.
- Tell us about your career history, from the time you joined en world to the time you rejoined.
I joined en world’s HR department in 2017 as a recruiter for new graduates. Before that, I was a sales representative for job advertisements at another recruiting company. At that time, I wanted to be more involved with the actual recruiting process. My former colleague, who had previously joined en world earlier referred me to the company.
Back then, there were two recruiters in the new graduate recruiting team including myself. We reported directly to the CEO and English was essential at the work place. It was tougher than I had expected, since i had no experience under my belt. I used my sales experience every day and made it a point to proactively communicate with other members in the company. After a while, teams were reorganized and I started to be involved in mid-career recruiting.
Although I was in HR, I was frustrated that I was not involved in recruitment consulting. In the midst of that, my interest towards recruitment consulting grew after someone nudged me. In addition, the person I held as my role model in the company invited me to join the BtoB department, and that led me to transfer. This move was a big challenge for me because I had no background in the semiconductor industry. So I sat in on candidate interviews, attended trade shows and continued to gain experience. Once I built a career as a recruitment consultant, I became a candidate advisor, then eventually accepted the SCA position.
After that, I left en world and gained HR experience in a large IT firm. But what I realized through this career move was the importance of working closely with job seekers which was demonstrated in how en world ran its recruiting business. I wanted to be involved in providing mid- to long-term support of people going through “career changes” and “thriving in their new work environment,” which are major transitions that I couldn’t be involved in being in as an in-house HR professional. That is why I decided to rejoin the company as an SCA.

- What do you find engaging and rewarding about SCA work?
SCA is a unique position. The great thing about this job is being in a position to objectively discover the strengths of job seekers and make suggestions based on those strengths. I find it rewarding to engage with them on a deep level, and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on their lives by using my own experience in career changing.
SCA is also in charge of in-house training for new graduates and mid-career employees. We welcomed our first new graduates in 2024 after en world’s first major recruitment of new graduates and through trial and error, we conducted an intuitive training that explained the fundamentals of the recruiting industry. Being in charge of training requires a lot of learning, but it drives my motivation.
- You continue to achieve outstanding sourcing results. What are the keys to your success?
It’s important to work with consultants “as one”, so I focus on team success while maintaining the same perspective as the recruitment consultants. For me, it isn’t just about getting the work done. It is important for me to keep the team’s mid- to long-term strategies in mind while still being involved in your individual work.
In communicating with job seekers, responding quickly as if operating 24/7 is what I keep in mind. During my career transition, receiving a quick response gave me a sense of security. I am committed to my words when providing career support in a mid- to long-term perspective and this builds trusting relationships.
I also make a point of taking care of team members. I don’t say, “Hang in there!” to members who are struggling, but rather communicate in a way that keeps them positive. I like to be friendly and positive to others, and try to be the person people would want to talk to about their problems instead of carrying it by themselves.
- What is fascinating about en world?
I think the biggest attraction of en world is “the people”. en world’s culture of strong teamwork and sharing is our strength. Our culture of sharing information and supporting each other is the foundation on which we work together to overcome the challenges we face. We have built good working and personal relationships.
Especially now a days, I feel that there is a heightened sense of shared awareness among employees towards the company’s mission and core values, and a more secure work environment is being established. The level of psychological security is another strength en world has. We tend to get overwhelmed with our daily work, but there is a connection between “people” that goes beyond work relationships, “I can get through this because of my team.” This motivates us to work toward team success, not just individual performance.

- Tell us what your future plans are.
Working as a player in the BtoB division is exciting in a way that it cannot be replaced. I would like to continue playing an active role as a player, but in addition to being an SCA, I would also like to be involved in training of new employees and mid-career hire employees who have no experience. I would like to apply my experience in the field to create targeted and practical programs, and contribute to enhancing the knowledge and skills of other members.
