Meet our Employees
Both BtoB and BtoC marketing are truly fascinating!
I ensure “enabling success” through industry-specific and job-specific measures
Nanae Inada
I joined en world marketing team in 2019 from a different industry and taking on new tasks while leveraging my experience from my previous job. I returned from maternity leave in spring 2023 and was promoted to Team Manager. I am involved in BtoC and BtoB marketing activities as well as team building, with the goal of “enabling success”.
- What are your current duties?
I am the marketing team manager. I gave birth to twins in 2022, and was promoted to manager when I returned to work after maternity leave in spring 2023. I currently oversee areas ranging from digital marketing to PR communications, and take care of marketing strategy planning, budget management, and team development.
I am currently working on improving the brand awareness of the en world and promoting the registration of job seekers, along with branding for the adoption of this company.
- When and why did you join en world?
I joined the marketing department in April 2019. In my previous company I worked in the business planning department and mainly did PR work and website management rather than marketing, and was also responsible as a secretary for managing company-wide projects. When I thought about my future career, I started looking for a new job in a company that would give me an opportunity to grow and where I could apply my English skill. At that time I was receiving business-related social media messages from an en world consultant.
At first, I continued my job search as a registrant with en world, but I had insufficient experience and I couldn’t find any companies that interested me. Then the consultant in charge introduced a marketing position at en world and that was the trigger for me to apply to this company. Since I was told that I could also do work in the PR field, I asked to continue.
I decided to join after being impressed by the global workplace environment and the smooth communication during the interviews. Among other things, the way in which the interviewers accepted my answers and let me speak as an equal made me feel that this company was a perfect choice.
- Why do you find marketing in the recruitment industry appealing?
The basic premise of the recruitment industry is that a successful job transfer is one that meets the expeectations of both the job seeker and the hiring company. Since the “enabling success” is also an important mission for en world group, our marketing activities do not focus on just one point but take a balanced approach. Rather than simply thinking of achievements in terms of increasing the number of registrants or the number of connections to hiring companies, we take measures that are conscious of “the balance of supply and demand for each individual industry and job type”. BtoB methods are used to recruit companies, while BtoB approaches are used to increase the number of registrants. I think that the unique appeal of HR industry marketing is the ability to take part in both aspects of marketing with their widely different characteristics.
In addition, our strategic planning differs depending on the hiring company and job seeker, as well as the industry and job type we are dealing with. For example, should we use digital advertising or make our approaches at offline events? I find it interesting that we have to think about how to proceed each time because each case is different.
- What do you need to keep in mind when communicating about en world?
What matters when matching job seekers and hiring companies is “what kind of message to send and to whom.” As I mentioned earlier it is not just a matter of being happy that we have increased the number of new registrants. Once a registration is received, it is important to create as many customer experiences as possible so that our users can feel “it’s OK to let en world take care of it.” And to be able to do that, we need to increase the accuracy of our targeting and deliver the right messages.
Furthermore, instead of using AI, each of our consultants interacts personally with the hiring companies and job seekers to match the desires of both parties. Since we have a limited number of consultants, we don’t have KPIs that just simply count the numbers of registrations, but aim to design KPIs that increase the number of cases that fullfill our mission of “enabling success”.
- What do you think are the specialties and strengths of en world?
It’s our mission “enabling success”. As I mentioned earlier, ensuring the success of the job seeker after they joined their company is a commitment that en world must make to both the job seeker and the hiring company. And this is not just idle talk. I believe that all of our consultants empathize with and understand this concept and that it has permeated throughout the company. Based on the feedback from those who have used our services, I feel that it has become a very significant strength of ours.
I feel this most keenly when I attened sales team meetings. This is where the consultants present successful examples of job transfers that they have worked on, always including “what were the key points regarding success after joining.” We thoroughly evaluate the performance of each new job transferee is performing and share the results with the other members. In this way, you can feel that all of our consultants are genuinely committed to both the job seeker and the hiring company, and that the company mission of “enabling success” is deeply rooted in our day-to-day work. The same applies in departments other than sales. Colleagues who share the company’s mission come together, become one body, and form a stronger organization.
- What is the atmosphere like in en world?
I think that the culture of mutual support and appreciation that you encounter from the moment you joined the company is one of the great things about en world. For example, every Friday we have a success sharing platform called Ring-A-Ding, where at the end of each presentation, our colleagues take time to express their thanks to their co-workers. Depending on the content, that could be someone in the back office or a senior or junior team member, but in any case this deep-rooted culture of appreciation is fantastic.
I also think the fact that there are many people who like to have fun is connected to the good culture here. Many people enjoy activities outside of work, for example, everyone dresses up for events like Halloween and Christmas parties. There are also people of all nationalities, so there is a strong sense of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), and many people actively participate in the kind of events I just mentioned.
I am also part of a group of “Ambassadors”, who regardless of their position in the company, volunteer to help create a good organization and spread the culture.
- What things do you value about your work?
The most important thing is to bring out the best in each team member, and let them build their careers. And of course everyone is sometimes asked to overcome their weaknesses. I want us to complement each other when working as a team, to create synergies by sharing our wisdom and demonstrating our abilities in areas where we are strong, and to accumulate successful experiences, no matter how small.
Another thing I value is creating a self-sufficient team that works even when I am not here due to family matters. It might seem a minor point, but I am careful about not holding up the team by making them wait for my actions. For example, there are cases when I put tasks on hold because I still tend to think that things will move quicker if I get in touch with a particular person or group. As a manager, I need to judge the things I must do and leave those that I don’t need to do to my team members. To achieve this, I think regular communication and trusting relationships are important. Rather than simply leaving it to someone else, I want to share what I know about the background and story of the work so that the person receiving the work is also satisfied with it.
- Do you have any goals or things you want to take on in future?
Firstly, I would like to strengthen my know-how in various aspects, both as a manager and as a marketing specialist. My life has changed because of having children, so I am constantly thinking about how to build my future career.
One consequence from this is that I hope to help those who are struggling with work and raising children. Many people put off thinking about their careers when they start taking care of children. While I know that the complexities of family life mean that there is no single right answer, I want to offer some ideas that can help. In my own case, my husband and I were already having regular discussions about each other’s work and careers, so we were able to include the challenges of being a manager in those conversations. In the end, my husband told me that he would support me and that I should just get on with it.
While treasuring my family, I will continue to build my career. By becoming a role model as a working parent, I want to support people who are also struggling to balance their family and career.
